CSUF Smoking Cessation Programs

COMMUNITY RESOURCES

Free tobacco/smoking cessation classes are available to CSUF students, staff and faculty through Anaheim Regional Medical Center. Classes are offered in a variety of formats (outlined below), and all formats address issues such as identifying triggers, developing coping skills, making lifestyle changes, creating a support system, and preventing a relapse. All classes are held within a 5 minute drive from campus.

Cessation Class Formats Available:

  • A Five-week cessation class series
  • Single meeting educational seminar
  • Individual counseling sessions
  • Telephone hot-line
  • Support group
  • Free nicotine patches for adults 18 and over who complete cessation classes

Enrolling in workshops:
EMPLOYEES

    1. Go to the CSUF Portal and login.
    2. Click on the “Training” tab. (NOTE: If you don’t see training tab go to “Profile” tab, activate training tab by clicking the box and then refreshing the screen)
    3. When you get to the Employee Training Center page, click the “ETC Login” tab.
    4. Click on the “Schedule” link. This will bring up a calendar. Search for the class/date you are looking for. Click the underlined class title for details.
    5. Click “Register” to enroll in the class.

STUDENTS

    1. Go to the CSUF Portal and login.
    2. Click on the “Training” tab. (NOTE: If you don’t see training tab go to “Profile” tab, activate training tab by clicking the box and then refreshing the screen)
    3. Click on the “Calendar” link. Search for the class/date you are looking for. Click the underlined class title for details.
    4. Click “Register” to enroll in the class.
